“This is the real secret of life – to be completely engaged with what you are doing in the here and now. And instead of calling it work, realize it is play” ~ Alan Watts
I was updating my resume as I’ve done 100’s of times in the past 20 years and realized that there is no way of fitting in 20 years of accomplishments, and failures because failure is often more important, in a two-page CV. Why not instead create an interactive resume that showcases what I’ve learned, what I read, and what I think about. We are entering a scary time in society where fear of artificial intelligence, instability in government(s), an aging workforce disrupts the feeling of security in the workplace. I put over twenty years of professional experience, varied academic pursuits and many trips to the bookstore in an effort to learn new technology to keep myself employed. Why not curate all I have done including the mistakes, and present these in an interactive web site? Why make it a static page when we learn every day of the year, and every minute of the day. Why not collaborate with others and help invent the jobs of the future and do the work that makes retirement obsolete.
